As the written blog, full of deep personal revelations, became a global norm I realized I would never achieve great wit or grow into a Spalding Gray protégé. Spalding Gray had already died which was unfortunate. ...although it did spare him from having to suffer through comparisons to some online blockhead sniveling about their misfortunes.
I instead focused my blogging on things at which I had some skill. All of my blogging to this point has been image-based or bizarre quotes borrowed. I have collected, cut, scrapped and pasted (digitally of course) anything of interest. I began to think of visual blogging as an exploratory activity of which the results didn’t require "me" for validation or defense. Here I am simply attempting to layout, for myself primarily, why, after five years, I am bothering to author a text-blog.
The purpose of this blog is to share and prompt the writing of more materials that frame my current creative research. Also, I am nearing the end of a graduate business program in which I have had little choice but to write. I’m beginning to enjoy it again. Writing is a great excuse to read hundreds of pages on single topics after which I can collect my scattered thoughts in a single place.
